Job Description:
DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a well-rounded, organized,
enthusiastic andproactive Communications Specialist (Associate) to
join a team with an unmatched mission - preventing Veteran suicide.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Associate on a
combination of communications deliverables, project management
tasks, and provide event support. The ideal candidate is someone
who has a strong attention to detail and is looking for an
opportunity to roll up their sleeves, learn and grow with the team.
You'll be part of atalented team supporting public health campaigns
and community-based prevention strategies, with ongoing program
evaluation and research to expand implementation of practices in
collaboration with the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and other
federal agencies. If you are seeking an impactful opportunity
focused on improving mental healthcare for Veterans and suicide
prevention, this is the role for you.The Communications Specialist
will support a variety of events and communications products. They
will manage schedules, agendas, read-ahead documents, minutes, and
edit and proofread communications products. Additionally, the
Communications Specialist will ensure that writing products are
professional, accurate, straightforward, and smoothly
flowing.Location:This position is remote, with occasional domestic
travel. The selected candidate will work during DCG's core Eastern
Standard Time business hours.Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, creative writing,
or communications
- A minimum ofthree (3)yearsofrelevant professional
experiencesupporting communications and marketing campaigns,
preferably in an agency setting
- Experience with event support including agenda development,
read-ahead documents, note taking, etc. with a strong eye for
detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- The ability to travel domestically on an occasional basis for
event support
- Excellent writing skills with experience developing and/or
editing a variety of communication products, including but not
limited to blog and social media posts, digital media ads, outreach
toolkits, one-pagers, newsletter articles, presentation materials,
and other traditional communications products
- Proven to have excellentorganizational skills and attention to
detail, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the
ability to manage a diverse workload
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple
deadlines
- Experience writing or editing communications products focused
on sensitive topics is a plus
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to
