Compensation for this position is in the $75k range to $85K range depending on qualifications and experience.Summary: The Manager, Outreach provides a vision and long-term strategy to develop the AFSPA brand, recruit new members and engage current members, eligible federal agencies and stakeholders through outreach and educational activities and products.Duties and Responsibilities:Duties & responsibilities of the Manager, Outreach include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise day-to-day activities and professional development of Junior Outreach Coordinator(s). In addition, manage the AFSPA Ambassadors, Association affiliates who represent AFSPA at select events by providing training, location clearance, payroll assistance etc.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution efforts for all AFSPA and associated Senior Living Foundation (SLF) events including, but not limited to, the Annual Meeting, Planning for Change, Health Benefit Officer Brunch and any Open Season health events.
  • Prepare educational and promotional materials for and attend Open Season Events, Wellness Fairs, New Hire Events, Service Days, etc. at qualifying agencies to promote AFSPA's services.
  • Educate members about AFSPA and SLF offerings and initiatives through creation and updating of brochures and interactive member engagement activities.
  • Oversee creation and implementation of multi-media advertising and sponsorship agreements by initiating meetings withvendors, deciding upon annual ad strategy and ensuring delivery of outreach materials and ads. In addition, ensure all ads appear on the agreed upon timeframe throughout the year and receive year-end and after-event analytics and supporting documents such as event photos.
  • Maintain a strong rapport with federal agency human resource representatives, clients and partners.
  • Manage the AFSPA Ambassador Program by recruiting more Ambassadors and ensuring the program continues to meet the Association's needs in an evolving health and wellness landscape.
  • Create and manage department budget to include advertising and sponsorship spreadsheet.
  • Remain current with Industry Standards by staying current with industry technology and trends via trainings, reading trade articles, tutorial videos, etc.

Work location will be assigned and/or changed based upon business need and at Management's sole discretion.Language Ability:Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, safety manual, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Must possess excellent communication and written skills. Must have excellent organizational skills. Ability to speak effectively with colleagues and management.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and calculate figures and amounts such as percentages. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs and pie charts.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should be strong in Microsoft Office Suite and research and literature review using the internet.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
