is seeking an onsite Scientist to join our Microphysiological
Systems (MPS) program in Gaithersburg, MD. Experience in
development of iPSC, 3D or MPS models is required. This role

authenticated biological materials. Responsibilities Research and
Development: Design and conduct experimental research to advance
scientific discovery and development in the field of iPSC.
Initiate, direct, and execute scientific research strategies,
exploring the feasibility of applying scientific principles to new
inventions and products. Implement methods for differentiating iPS
cells into various cell and tissue types, such as neural and
cardiac. Technical Problem Solving and Documentation: Plan and
execute laboratory research, troubleshoot technical issues, analyze
data, and document corrective actions. Develop comprehensive
research documentation, including protocols, reports,
presentations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring
high quality and consistency. Develop and implement analytic
methods to characterize the quality and suitability of iPS-derived
cells. Utilize expertise in 3D cell culture, organoids or
spheroids, and mammalian cell culture techniques. Apply cellular
and molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays, including
flow cytometry and RT-PCR, ELISA, colorimetric, fluorometric, and
luminescent assays. Perform immunofluorescence staining, microscopy
(phase contrast, fluorescent, live, and confocal imaging), and
associated image analysis. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Share research findings with internal and external audiences,
support grant and contract proposals, and facilitate technology
transfer across business units. Maintain quality standards and
scientific integrity, staying updated on relevant scientific and
technological advancements. Independently and/or collaboratively
design, troubleshoot, and implement state-of-the-art approaches to
establish tissue culture in microphysiological platforms.
Qualifications PhD in Scientific Discipline or Engineering
Equivalent and 2-5 years' experience or equivalent experience.
Experience differentiating iPS cells into various cell types, such
as neural and cardiac. Proficient in 3D cell culture, organoids, or
spheroids. Skills in mammalian cell culture and associated
techniques. Expertise in cellular and molecular biology techniques,
including flow cytometry and RT-PCR. Experience with biochemical
assays (ELISA, MSD, colorimetric, fluorometric, luminescent).
Ability to perform immunofluorescence staining, microscopy, and
image analysis. Ability to design, troubleshoot, and implement
tissue culture in microphysiological platforms. Knowledge of
Microphysiological Systems (MPS) or Organ-on-Chip (OoC)
technologies is a bonus. Strong interpersonal and communication
skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management
skills. Benefits The expected salary range for this position is
$105,000 to $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be
determined based on experience and qualifications as well as
internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base
salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive
compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate
