Bilingual Quality Assurance Lead (Contract to Hire)
Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality compliance with company, regulatory, and customer standards. Oversees daily QA operations, including audits (HACCP, GMP, SPC), environmental and micro sampling, raw material and finished product inspections, and product testing. Supports training, product development, and compliance with allergen, traceability, and recall programs. Collaborates across departments to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement. Leads root cause analyses and maintains documentation for QA systems.

Hourly Rate: $19-21/hour paid weekly

Work Type: Contract to Hire

Location: Richmond, VA

Schedule: 5:30 AM until finish Sunday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• Verify finished products prior to shipment by reviewing production documentation for accuracy.
• Support the QA Director in defining product specifications, and developing finished product specifications and photo standards.
• Analyze incoming raw materials to ensure they meet quality and grade requirements.
• Conduct physical, organoleptic, and microbiological sampling; monitor warehouse ingredient storage for proper rotation and usage.
• Perform full traceability and recall procedures for any material as needed.
• Conduct scheduled weekly audits to ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, and quality systems.
• Evaluate and recommend updates to existing quality programs and policies through regular process audits.
• Oversee the Allergen Program, including employee training, awareness, and proper segregation of materials to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assist with internal, third-party, and regulatory audits, prepare product samples, and coordinate shelf-life testing panels.
• Maintain ongoing communication and coordination between QA, operations, and support staff to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Inspect processes across production areas to ensure standards are met and identify solutions for any non-conformities. Qualifications:
  • 3+ years in food processing and 1-3 years in QA or supervisory roles preferred
  • HACCP certification preferred
  • High school diploma required; B.S. in Food Science or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of FSMA, FDA, food microbiology, sanitation, and process control
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Physical Requirements:
    • Able to lift up to 70 lbs, work in cold/wet environments, stand for long periods, and wear PPE
    • Ability to work in a cold environment
    • Must wear layers and steel toed shoes
    • Ability to pass drug screen and background requirements
