mitigates instances of disinformation and social media manipulation
to help clients navigate the new digital reality. We protect
clients from the threat of disinformation that targets brands,
reputations, employee safety, or financial bottom lines through our
industry-leading investigation and remediation services.Position
Summary:Are you a recent college graduate with a passion for
analysis and a keen interest in countering the effects of
disinformation? Alethea is looking for a Junior Analyst to join our
team analyzing social media manipulation and online threats
targeting our clients.In this entry-level role, you'll be working
closely with experienced analysts, learning the ropes of daily
monitoring, and conducting OSINT (Open Source Intelligence)
investigations. Your primary responsibilities will include
analyzing social media data and other online sources to identify
potential risks. You'll also support the team by assisting in the
creation of client briefing materials and contributing to the
development of detailed reports.We're looking for someone who is
highly curious, with initiative and energy. You must be adaptable,
creative, and eager to tackle a variety of challenges. As a valued
member of our team, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute
ideas for improving our investigative and operational processes.
This role focuses on threat analysis rather than policy
development.Bonus points if you have language skills in Hindi,
Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese, Indonesian, or Japanese, though it's

- Analyze social media data and other online sources to identify
potential risks.
- Provide written insights into social media conversations and
investigate instances of manipulation and disinformation for a
variety of industries.
- Contributing to discussions identifying new trends in social
media manipulation, disinformation, and online risk.
- Manage and prioritize multiple investigative projects and
tasks, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and high-quality
products.
- Assist in the preparation of client-facing materials, and
public-facing reports.
- Support briefings led by Senior Analysts.
- Support customer success and sales teams in developing
materials for prospecting or client-facing briefings.
Skills/Experience:
- Education: Recent college graduate with a strong GPA and a
demonstrated interest in analysis, research, or investigation
through internships or relevant work experience.
- Research & Analysis: Proven skills in qualitative and
quantitative research, with strong analytical abilities and
experience in data analysis or modeling.
- Report Writing: Excellent writing skills, with the ability to
articulate complex and diverse findings clearly and concisely and
the ability to work closely with editors to ensure a quality
product
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills,
with the ability to convey information clearly and
effectively.

- Prior work experience analyzing social media data.
- Familiarity with the disinformation space (e.g. through
academic research, training, or prior work experience)
- A well-developed understanding-either through research, study,
or experience-of one of the following areas: social media research,
government and politics, disinformation, information operations,
violent extremism, quantitative analysis, computer science, or
cybersecurity.Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary and stock options are negotiated based on
experience.

- Hybrid work environment, with 3 days per week required in
office in Washington, D.C or New York.The salary range for this
entry level position is $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on
the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition
to cash compensation, this role is eligible for a stock option
