Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small
Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and
Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East
Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and
facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small
business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management,
technical consulting, engineering, and construction management
services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its
Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with
other US federal agencies, all over the world. The Construction
Claims Analyst will play a pivotal role in our organization by
providing expert claims and dispute resolution services as
required. This position may involve offering expert testimony in
unique situations within specialized disciplines. This position
will be based in Salem, Virginia, and will involve - on-site work
at Veterans Affairs Hospitals . The contract duration is four
years. Our salary range for this position, based on the market
data, is $100-130k per annum (range varies depending on experience
and qualifications). Key responsibilities: -
- Review project records to gain a comprehensive understanding of
project details
- Create logical interpretations of project events and
outcomes
- Provide in-depth analysis of how construction work was
performed
- Assess responsibility for specific project outcomes and
disputes
- Assist in negotiating claims to either recoup maximum
compensation or minimize expenses
- Generate detailed reports with supporting information essential
for resolving disputes or defending against claims
- Prepare and assemble appeal files for legal proceedings
- Participate in meetings and negotiations with claimants
- Appear in legal proceedings as an expert witness when
required
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for use in claims
negotiations
- Conduct risk assessments and analyses related to claim
exposures
- Prepare findings of fact and any other necessary
documentation
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as
appropriate. Qualifications to be successful in the role: -
- Bachelor's degree in law (Construction) from an accredited
University. Graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal
apprenticeship program.
- Educational requirement may be substituted by 14 years of
directly related experience.
- 10 years of experience in construction claims analysis and
negotiations.
- Experience with day-to-day problem resolution in construction
site management, technical, and engineering issues.
- Thorough understanding of claims review and legal defense
processes.
- Ability to perform Cause and Effect Analysis, Cost and Schedule
Integration, and Entitlement Analysis.
- Proficiency in various software programs for monitoring,
updating, and producing work products.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Experience working in healthcare preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
