Who are you?
You are a Cybersecurity Operations Research Analyst who can provide hands-on cybersecurity, IT infrastructure security, network security, security controls, and configurations technical support. You have experience within any cyber discipline, a general understandings of Digital Footprinting of protected facilities, and are able to identify and capture cyber risks, vulnerabilities, and threats. If you have this background and experience, are a self-starter who takes initiative, then we encourage you to apply! This position will advise the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cyber-Physical Operations Division, Cybersecurity Assessment (CSA) Program & Process on asset and inventory management, product security, emerging technologies, and research and development initiatives. In addition, the incumbent will provide recommendations and analysis of adversarial targeting of Federal IT infrastructure, networks, and/or systems.. This is mostly a remote position with 1 day a week or less in Washington D.C.
Responsibilities include:


  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, network security, security controls, and configurations.
  • Ability to develop cyber-specific reports that capture and detail risks, vulnerabilities, mitigations, and recommendations.
  • Understanding the application of Industry Standards and Frameworks (NIST 800-53, 800-171, NIST CSF)
  • Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences

    You'll arrive equipped with:

    • Six (6) years of experience in leading operational analysis and business improvement activities
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of operational data and map business processes
    • Ability to assess current operations and recommend process and technology improvements
    • Ability to work effectively with a group or independently
    • Ability to effectively manage several projects at one time
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
    • Attention to detail, strategic thinking, and organized work habits.
    • Bachelor's degree. Discipline in business, operations research, organizational assessment is preferred.
    • U.S. citizenship (the nature of our work with the federal government limits our hiring to U.S. citizens).
