Job Description:

Versar is currently seeking a NOC Tier 1 Analyst to support network engineering and operations tasks at the Department of Homeland Security. Candidate will work with customers to answer first-line requests for network support, network performance status, triage or troubleshoot network issues, and support data communications and IT security needs of the organization. Position location is in Oxen Hill, MD. Responsibilities: Monitor and manage all first level correspondence to the Network Operations Center (NOC) including calls, emails and alerts through various network monitoring and ticketing tools.Compile client incident information to create an incident ticket to determine exact issue and proper escalation priority.Ensure network performance is maintained by utilizing various network tools. Utilize network tools for monitoring varying system information, network performance, alerts and tickets created.Support triage of router and connection issues for DHS Component sites per Tier 1 diagnoses processes.Provide router statistics, monitor errors and update incident tickets with this information as needed.Provide bandwidth reports to customers and service providers to ensure proper utilization. Coordinate troubleshooting sessions with customers and service providers.Work closely with service providers for status on circuit tickets and other issues.Assist the Government Watch Officers (GWO) in triaging incidents that need upper management awareness.Complete Shift Turn-Over Reports, detailing the current critically important issues, who is on shift to assist and the current status. Create reports, in addition to creation of ServiceNow incident tickets, which outline certain critical outages and report them to several stakeholders, sometimes hourly/bi-hourly, until issues are resolved.Responsible for managing and reporting on multiple issues/tickets at once.Must be able to work independently in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
