Position Overview:
Advancia Technologies (AT), LLC, is a growing small business and
looking for the ideal person to join our team of consulting
professionals as a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst. AT is
currently performing on a contract that supports the Department of
the Navy. As AT's clients face changing conditions, increasing
mission requirements, and resource constraints, they are looking
for innovative solutions that drive successful outcomes and support
their most important asset - their people. AT is engaging with
clients to prepare for and address these challenges while enhancing
operational results. AT requires talented and experienced people to
support this effort. The Junior Business Intelligence Analyst is a
pivotal position on the AT team. Initially, they will join a
project team that is supporting the transformation of human capital
systems and is primarily focused on the transformation and
presentation of data sets into solutions and visualizations that
will eventually reengineer workflows for a government client.
Principal Responsibilities:
The Junior Business Intelligence Analyst is primarily expected to
be a curious analyst, with knowledge of highly effective data
management practices; appropriate analytic efforts that support the
ability to improve spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, business
intelligence reports/visualizations and the ability to work with
authoritative databases. Additional responsibilities include but
are not limited to: --- Collecting, structuring, and analyzing
complex data sets. --- Ability to understand how data is analyzed
to identify trends andl produce meaningful recommendations and
results. --- Establishing metrics/KPIs, measurements (e.g. ROI),
targets, and baselines of various measurements, including employee
recruitment. --- Preparing final project deliverables, including
management reports (with charts), presentations, briefings, and
written documents. --- Utilizing data visualization and analytic
tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create digestible
representations of data (e.g. dashboards). --- Support drafting
policies, processes, methodologies (leveraging industry standards
and benchmarks where possible), and strategies for the client that
align programs and activities to goals and objectives that guide
data-driven decision making. --- Applying learned knowledge to
gather quantifiable and qualifiable data, analyze data, and develop
conclusions and recommendations for continuous improvement. ---
Effectively communicating results of work and recommendations with
the project team and the client, as needed.
Aptitudes / Education / Experience:
The Junior Business Intelligence Analyst must have proven the
following types of aptitudes, education, and work experiences: ---
Undergraduate degree in related discipline from an accredited
university; an advanced degree is preferred. --- Three (3) years of
experience in mathematics, statistics, business, data science,
and/or data management. --- Demonstrated ability to examine,
analyze, and interpret data, records, and reports. One (1) to two
(2) years consulting experience is a plus. --- Advanced skills in
MS Office Suite, with expertise in Excel to include the ability to
develop formulas, charts, and spreadsheets that clearly present
data to facilitate decision-making by management. --- Experience
with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI. ---
Detail-oriented, with the ability to spot trends and ensure
accuracy. --- Self-motivated to work productively and
independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
--- Experience with Federal contracting (DoD experience
preferred)

Security Clearance:
Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies
(e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access badges.
Travel:
--- Local travel within DC Metro area may be needed. --- Domestic
travel may be needed.
