What You Will Do:
Guidehouse Cybersecurity consultants help our clients solve complex
technology and business issues from strategy through execution. A
successful cybersecurity consultant at Guidehouse displays the

skills and concepts, including cyber threat intelligence,
vulnerability management, testing of security controls, risk

well as to engage with a wide range of clients. Successful
candidates will additionally be able to contribute as thought
leaders on white papers and articles, develop new business and

risk decision-making and security, and their subject matter
expertise, personal brand, and our firm.
DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Cybersecurity Consultant, the candidate will be responsible
for analyzing primarily cyber and other technical data and
producing recommendations. The purpose is to understand and
mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities faced by public and private
critical entities in support of a major agency responsible for
enhancing the resiliency of the Nation's cybersecurity.
Responsibilities include:
* Analyzing technical data obtained from external scans and
internal network assessments to understand potential risks and
identify mechanisms for remediation.
* Utilizing a strong analytic mindset to proactively develop
creative solutions addressing challenging problems with imperfect
data.
* Identifying gaps in available data and proposing new data sources
and other information for consideration.
* Helping clients identify improvements to enhance the
effectiveness of current processes.
* Proactively engaging with clients to understand goals and
objectives, identify challenges, recommend solutions, and manage
expectations.
* Translating analytic findings into actionable outcomes for our
clients and communicating complex concepts with clarity for a wide
range of client requirements and complex problem sets.
* Actively participating in designing and building new
methodologies, tools, technologies, and solutions for ambiguous and
hard-to-define problem sets that require multidisciplinary
thinking, technical development, creative solutioning, and a sharp
analytic mindset.
* Participating in the coordination and composition of business
development requirements, including crafting responses to requests
for information and proposals, identifying and organizing past
performance qualifications, and participating in general
opportunity shaping activities and pursuits.
What You Will Need:
* Bachelor's degree (from an accredited 4-year college/university)
and/or 4+ years of experience conducting intelligence analysis and
writing analytical products with an emphasis on cybersecurity.
* An active DHS Public Trust and ability to obtain a national
security clearance.
* Understanding of and exposure to technical concepts, including
but not limited to networking, secure configuration of endpoint
devices, the MITRE ATT&CK Matrix, and network protocols.
* Knowledge of and experience with vulnerability management as it
relates to implementation and testing of security controls, risk
prioritization, and mitigation.
* Demonstrated ability/experience in identifying vulnerabilities
within hardware, software, and ICS/SCADA/IOT systems.
* Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively
engage clients and produce high-quality deliverables including
reports, presentations, files, messaging, graphics, visualizations,
and other documents and information.
* Experience conducting raw and finished data analysis to produce
analytic reports.
* Work in Washington DC area as needed, including client and
intra-team meetings in-person as required.
* Guidehouse requires a writing sample, of no more than 500 words.
An ideal sample will demonstrate your skills while conveying
technical cybersecurity concepts in a manner readily understood by
a non-technical audience. Submission of this sample is intended to
demonstrate a reflection of you and must be solely of your own
work. You may submit a sample of your choosing authored within the
past year or if you do not have a relevant sample, then choose a
current news article on a cybersecurity topic and provide a written
commentary. You may assess the validity of the opinion or
information presented in the article, provide further analysis on
the topic, or leverage the article to demonstrate your analytic
skills. Please be sure to include sourcing for the article.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
* Bachelor or master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field
of study.
* Top Secret/SCI security clearance preferred.
* Experience with platforms like Mandiant, Recorded Future,
Anomali, and Analyst One.
* Desired Certifications (one or more desired):
* GIAC Certified Intrusion Handler (GCIH)
* GIAC Penetration Tester (GCIA)
* CISSP
* SANS 578 Threat Intel Certification
* CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst
* McAfee Certified Cyber Intelligence Professional
* Proficiency/technical skills related to data analysis using
programming languages (e.g., R, Python), data visualization (e.g.,
Shiny, Tableau, Power BI), and database exploitation (e.g., SQL,
Excel).
