Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking Insider Threat System
Analysts to engage complex data analytics tools, develop and
oversee software programs, and conduct data analysis.
NGA is a Department of Defense (DoD) combat support agency and a
member of the National Intelligence Community (IC). NGA develops
imagery and map-based intelligence solutions for U.S. national
defense, homeland security, and safety of navigation. NGA's mission
is to "provide timely, relevant, and accurate
geospatial-intelligence in support of national security."
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Insider Threat System Analysts employ complex data analytics
tools, develop, and oversee software programs to collect
information from Agency computer networks, and conduct data
analysis to identify anomalies and support counterintelligence,
security, administrative, and criminal investigations.
- Develop software programs to support User Activity Monitoring
(UAM) efforts on NGA networks, utilize complex tools and
mathematical algorithms to develop data analytics tools (i.e. Risk
360), and conduct analysis of information to identify unusual
patterns and other indications of insider threat activity.
- Assimilate, evaluate, and interpret all-source information
involving counterintelligence threats, security issues, computer
misuse, and personnel misconduct to identify threats against NGA
personnel, programs, information systems and/or facilities.
- Knowledgeable on cyber security, computer network defense, and
investigative and law enforcement activities.
- Advise customers on issues regarding full life cycle of data
from design to production to maintenance, and including conversion,
migration, translation, and data quality assurance. Assures that
database information can be shared, understood, accessed and is
accurate.
- Assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives, and
develop recommendations. Conducts design and development of
software, determination of interfaces, and technical feasibility
analysis.
- Coordinate and perform requirements and implementation
analysis, design, development, testing and enhancement of
application software. Level 1

- Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with
conducting operations relating to insider threat,
counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage.
- Working knowledge in DoD intelligence regulations and familiar
with Intelligence oversight principles.
- Technical training or experience assisting in the
implementation and maintenance of databases. Knowledge of coding,
testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs.
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
skills.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills. Verbally reports status to more senior
personnel, identifies issues and recommends actions. Level 2
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent w/ 3 - 6 Years Direct Relevant
Experience
- Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with
conducting operations relating to insider threat,
counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage.
- Working knowledge of Intelligence regulations and Intelligence
oversight principles and understanding of geospatial-intelligence
products, capabilities, and missions.
- Publishes finished analysis. Knowledge of DoD/Intelligence/law
enforcement communities.
- Knowledge of general administration of computerized databases,
developing long-range requirements for database administration and
design, preparing activity and progress reports regarding the
database management.
- Experience working on most phases of applications programming
activities, with limited instruction.
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
skills.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills. Level 3
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent w/ 7 - 10 Years Direct Relevant
Experience
- Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with
conducting operations relating to insider threat,
counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage. Familiar
with data analytics tools used for Insider Threat information
collection on computer networks or knowledge of other Insider
Threat risk scoring data analytics tools / programs.
- In-depth knowledge of Intelligence regulations and Intelligence
oversight principles and understanding of geospatial-intelligence
products, capabilities, and missions.
- Must possess superior writing and briefing skills and publish
finished analysis. Credentialed from a recognized
counterintelligence training school or formal analysis training
program is desired.
- Experience leading development and maintenance of databases
and/or database applications.
- Experience maintaining database dictionaries and integration of
systems through database design.
- Experience developing, modifying, or configuring moderately
complex software applications from detailed specifications.
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
skills.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills. Level 4
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent w/ 11 - 14 Years Direct
Relevant Experience
- Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with
conducting operations relating to insider threat,
counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage.
Experience with data analytics tools used for Insider Threat
information collection on computer networks or experience with
other Insider Threat risk scoring data analytics tools /
programs.
- In-depth knowledge of Intelligence regulations and Intelligence
oversight principles and understanding of geospatial-intelligence
products, capabilities, and missions applicable to the CI
functions.
- Must possess superior writing and briefing skills and publish
finished analysis. Credentialed from a recognized
counterintelligence training school, formal analysis training
program, or appropriate Information Assurance technical
certifications is desired. Conduct liaison with
DoD/Intelligence/law enforcement communities.
- Experience leading development and maintenance of databases
and/or database applications, and or data warehouse
implementations.
- Experience in leading team- tasks for modifying complex
applications programs from detailed specifications.
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
skills.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills. Level 5
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent w/ > 15 Years Direct
Relevant Experience
- Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with
conducting operations relating to insider threat,
counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage.
Experience with data analytics tools used for Insider Threat
information collection on computer networks or experience with
other Insider Threat risk scoring data analytics tools / programs.
In-depth knowledge of Intelligence regulations and Intelligence
oversight principles and understanding of geospatial-intelligence
products, capabilities, and missions.
- Must possess superior writing and briefing skills and publish
finished analysis. Credentialed from a recognized
counterintelligence training school, formal analysis training
program, or appropriate Information Assurance technical

enforcement communities. Experience in all phases of design,
development, and application of enterprise scale database and data
warehouse implementations.
