By doing this, we will Change Lives Together, every day and everywhere.ROLE SUMMARYThe Director of Facilities oversees the maintenance of all North American restaurants, ensuring they present well and are operational, safe, secure, and running fluently and efficiently as possible. This role is responsible for directing the planning, budgeting, supervision, and execution of facility maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, and preventative and recurring maintenance programs. This includes developing long-range facilities plans based on the companys overall strategic and tactical objectives. The Director of Facilities will work closely with and learn from senior members of the organization as well as contribute to the overall culture and growth of Nandos USA by providing direction and expert council across the Property Team as well as cross functionally to other departments. As with all members of the Nandos family, the Director of Facilities will be expected to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make Nandos and themselves better every day, and in general, be a good team player! The essential functions of this position are mapped out below: KEY FOCUS AREASStrategy, Development, + Management

  • Develop plans, processes, and procedures for the execution of maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, and preventative maintenance programs across all restaurants to ensure high standard of repair.
  • Consistently reevaluate existing processes, procedures, and programs to streamline for cost savings and other efficiencies
  • Meet and work with regional teams, county and local AHJs, Nandos legal team, landlords, and/or other stakeholders to navigate and resolve issues with leases, contracts, compliance, or restaurant premises
  • Develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support department goals and restaurant operations
  • Measure and report on current performance against stated company/department goals for each budget area and ensure appropriate benchmarks are being set
  • Collaborate with Operations and other cross-functional partners to ensure that all restaurant premises and equipment are safe and high-functioning for restaurant employees and guests
  • Oversee continuous improvement of our CMMS system to streamline use and reporting capabilities
  • Build and strengthen relationships with external vendors and suppliers to support the needs of the Department and Operations teams
  • Work closely with regional team to ensure adequate support material, such as use and care, is provided to the internal training team for all Property related items
  • Lead and develop internal team to overcome obstacles, build strong project management systems/ skills, and develop innovative approaches to problem solving.Contract and Project Management
    • Review regional preventative maintenance service level agreements, work order management, vendor management, asset management, and workmanship
    • Undertake regular reviews with the internal and external teams to ensure performance of service vendors and repair are up to standard and KPIs are met
    • Build project scope briefs, solicit bids, negotiate, schedule, and implement approved company-wide systems improvements
    • Review monthly financials for overall portfolio to confirm proper booking of invoices and drive resolution of any billing discrepancies
    • Direct KEC providers on warranty management, including periodic meetings to capture unwarranted invoices from vendors
    • To identify compliance servicing and testing requirements and implement systems to ensure estate-wide compliance.Restaurant Maintenance & Capital Expenditures
      • Oversee annual asset aging assessments and replacement budgets, identifying causes for longer ROIs
      • Coach restaurant leaders on best practices and proper use and care of equipment
      • Support construction team during new restaurant walk-throughs, including rough-in, design, and punch walks for handover of locations
      • Track existing assets within the portfolio to support life cycle costing, repair v. replaces, and design-related issues
      • Partner with the Operations team to ensure daily and deep cleaning programs extend the life of the asset, improve cleanliness, and reduce downtime and lifecycle costs.
      • Formulate specifications for small-works or asset roll-out CapEx projects. Obtain competitive quotations, manage approved projects, and review site work to ensure high quality standards are achieved.
        • Build and implement annual restaurant assessment checks ROLE REQUIREMENTS
          • 6+ years maintenance or facilities experience in multi-unit
          • Facilities Manager experience within the foodservice industry, experience with a multi-state employer preferred
          • Experience with restaurant equipment and premises to support issue-spotting of potential maintenance and compliance concerns
          • Experience in MEP (mechanical/HVAC, electrical, and plumbing), as well as refrigeration and ventilation
          • Valid drivers license and clean driving record, with reliable access to transportation
          • Ability to lift 50lbs
          • Ability to work flexible hours, including an on-call schedule for possible nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
          • Ability to commute between multiple restaurant locations and the corporate headquarters for up to 75-100% of the time within a given dayPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & VALUES Passion
