Job Description:

JPI is seeking a Data Analyst to assist the U.S. Coast Guard with a large-scale government-wide organizational transformation. The Data Analyst will be a member of a team providing project management, change management, and communications, and data analysis support to a federal client. The successful candidate will have 7+ years of experience developing metrics, key performance indicators, and conducting analyses for federal programs as well as interacting with high-level federal clients. Thought leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking are a must. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with program managers and client personnel. Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis of structured and unstructured data using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining, etc.
  • Works closely with the internal or external client to identify analytical requirements.
  • Work with large data sets within a variety of tools to include, but not limited to: QlikSense, Trifacta, Excel, Access (VBA), SQL and/or Alteryx.
  • Assists in implementing or developing systems to capture operational information.
  • Support and execute data management, data extraction, data aggregation, data cleaning/editing, data analysis, advanced analytics, reporting, and creating decision models from internal and external sources.
  • Conduct data validation controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of data sets / reports.
  • Develop data visualizations according to client requirements.
  • Identifies industry best practices for data governance and data quality.
  • Develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current operations or issues.
  • Assess the performance of programs against their intended goals through the development and maintenance of program evaluation and measurement criteria and methods. Develops data quality metrics for key data elements.
  • Quantifies business risk and value associated with client efforts.
  • Provide business related analyses, business cases, and alternatives analyses required to define organizational strategy and/or improve organizational performance.
  • Generate useful insights from analysis of data sources to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Establish quality assurance and other standard operating procedures while integrating existing policy and procedures.
  • Manages and executes special analytical projects, as needed.

    Qualifications
    • BA/BS with 7 years of relevant experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
      Preferred Experience:
      • Relevant experience in direct support of the US Coast Guard, Government Agencies supporting defense, Homeland Security, or law enforcement missions.
      • Proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
      • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
      • Proven ability to support multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously in a deadline driven process.
      • Experience in building and managing client relationships.
      • Ability to recognize new business development opportunities.
