(PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the
independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which
operate non-profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works
to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and
reproductive health. Formed as the advocacy arm of Planned
Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is
a separate non-profit membership organization tax-exempt under
section 501(c)(4). The Action Fund engages in educational,
advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots
organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in
furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission. Committed to
electing candidates who are steadfast in their support for sexual
and reproductive health and rights in furtherance of the Action
Fund's mission, Planned Parenthood Votes (PPVotes), an independent
expenditure committee (SuperPAC) registered with the Federal
Election Commission, conducts independent expenditures in federal
races, and engages in state elections as permitted by state
campaign finance laws. Planned Parenthood Action Fund (Action Fund)
and Planned Parenthood Votes (PPVotes) seek a Press Officer,
Elections & Campaigns. This position reports to the Director, State
Advocacy Communications in the External Affairs division. The
Communications team provides strategic communications guidance,
support, and tactics to Action Fund and PPVotes for electoral
communications. This role is expected to begin in February 2026 and
end in December 2026. Purpose: The Press Officer, Elections &
Campaigns would execute communications and media strategies around
Action Fund and PPVotes’ electoral advocacy and political
priorities to ensure access to care at Planned Parenthood health
centers, including safe, legal abortion and other sexual and
reproductive health care. This position is responsible for
strategically responding to breaking news and providing
communications with a focus on meeting the needs of and supporting
local Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations
during the 2026 electoral cycle. The individual would leverage
earned media in support of Action Fund and PPVotes’ public policy
goals. Engagement: This role will work closely with multiple
departments and teams, opposition research, policy teams, and
Action Fund and PPVotes’ organizing and electoral teams, to
collaboratively accomplish desired goals. On behalf of Action Fund
and PPVotes, the press officer will work on the IE side
communications team, in partnership with local Planned Parenthood
advocacy & political staff, on developing media strategies and
tactics for core electoral targets and states. Delivery: Pitch
stories, create media materials, and support the team in shaping
the media narrative in support of Action Fund and PPVotes’
electoral goals. Support the staffing of interviews when needed for
local Planned Parenthood advocacy and political staff and
leadership. Through consistent outreach, ensure that Planned
Parenthood advocacy and political organizations are considered a
“must have” source for Planned Parenthood issues, and stay apprised
of upcoming articles and stories developing on Planned Parenthood
issues. Ensure that Planned Parenthood Action Fund and PPVotes are
recognized as influential players in the political and electoral
spheres. Collaborate with the communications team to develop
strategies that elevate key national and local Planned Parenthood
advocacy and political organization staff, volunteers, and
supporters. Draft press releases, statements, advisories, op-ed
pieces, talking points, briefing notes, message guidance, fact
sheets, and other material that support media relations efforts.
Respond to inquiries from reporters, facilitate press stories and
interviews, and proactively pitch media at the local, state, and
national levels. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 2-3 years of media experience
required, preferably working directly with regional and national
media, including reporters, producers, bloggers, and writers, with
a demonstrated ability to pitch and land stories. High school
diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree
preferred. Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills.
Experience working on campaigns or in electoral politics strongly
preferred. Must write and edit proficiently and quickly, and must
be motivated and a self-starter with a proven track record of
meeting deadlines and deliverables with quick turnarounds.
Knowledge of communicating with diverse groups, working with a
multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation of
cultural differences is required. Must be a team player and remain
calm under pressure. A deep commitment to the Planned Parenthood

$78,000 - $78,000 a year Travel: 0-15% domestic Planned
