Description
This position is in support of a Department of Defense Customer. Specific Responsibilities
INFOSEC:
Support Information Security (INFOSEC) and Operational Security (OPSEC) Program Management activities by reviewing and providing recommendations, comments, and drafts of administrative security policies, procedures, and/or directives that provide support in the development and implementation of higher level policies, such as Executive Orders, ISOO Directives, and DoD issuances;
Update the policies as required to maintain currency with national policy and procedures, complete staffing of subject, action processing, resolve comments, update documents to reflect comment resolution, and submit a final version for government approval
Provide INFOSEC and OPSEC recommendations to identify the procedures and practices for safeguarding, controlling, and maintaining the accountability of classified material, to include assisting in the development of security classification guides in accordance with DODM 5200.45, so national security information is properly protected
Analyze proposed guidance and provide assistance to the author throughout the entire development process; Ensure the proper authority approves the guide and disseminates the guidance in accordance with DOD policy; Prepare courier cards as necessary
Develop and implement policy and procedures to track security incidents regardless of source, from receipt to final disposition
Receive, track, and process Unauthorized Disclosure (UD) incidents; Develop and implement policy and procedures to track UD incidents from receipt to final disposition
Develop and implement collateral and SCI Indoctrination and annual security refresher training for employees and on-site contractors
Provide recommendations to support Information Security Inspection and Oversight; Draft and maintain inspection checklists for Government review and approval in accordance with DoDM 5200.01-V1-V4 and conduct compliance reviews of elements and the Combatant Commands in accordance with the specifications aforementioned
Coordinate assistance visits with the Joint Staff Directorates; arrange inspection schedules, and meeting locations; and organize necessary materials for the inspection process
Create and manage an automated capability to track inspection items, identify pass/fail criteria, identity corrective actions required, and track overall findings; Draft Inspection Reports that include a summary of activities, findings, corrective actions, recommendations, success rating, recognition of personnel, and future actions
Collect information and develop Reporting for the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) in accordance with E.O. 13526 and ISOO Implementing Directive 32 CFR Parts 2001 and 2003 Classified National Security Information; Final Rule
Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of the Joint Staff Information Security Program using NIST Special Pub 800-55, Rev 1, Performance Measurement Guide for Information Security as a baseline
OPSEC:
Support a monthly OPSEC working group meeting;
Assist in the development and updating of the Joint Staff Critical Information Lists (CIL) by assisting Directorate Coordinators in identifying critical information that requires protection;
Responsible to conduct and publish specific vulnerability analysis that includes:
Lack of OPSEC Awareness
Lack of Threat Awareness
Open Source Information
Professional Conferences/Symposia
Communications
Contracting
Visitor Control
Conference Room Security?
Responsible for developing and implementing OPSEC indoctrination and annual refresher training for employees and on-site contractors
Responsible to provide recommendations to support OPSEC Security Inspection and Oversight
Responsible for Inspection Scheduling, Coordination and Reporting
Responsible for Annual Reports
Responsible for Customer Support
Provide OPSEC guidance to orders and plans during the planning and development process
Qualifications
Must have exceptional customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels as well as multitask.
Must be well-suited to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and overcome challenging situations confidently to surpass expected requirements. Required
