Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group

Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit,
bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to
provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to
decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over
the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of
its kind, with a staff of approximately 200 employees, including
more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of
international security across the globe. The Critical Minerals
Security Program at CSIS seeks to provide evidence-based thought
leadership to develop innovative and sensible policy solutions to
reduce supply chain vulnerabilities for key minerals. The Project
is seeking a Fellow to advance our research and policy agenda at
the intersection of critical minerals and national, economic and
energy security. The Fellow will play an important role in shaping
the research agenda, producing high-quality research outputs,
leading high-profile events, engaging with key decisionmakers in
government and the private sector, and mentoring junior staff. The
salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 based on
experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential
functions may include, but are not limited to the following: *
Collaborate with the Director to develop research projects from
inception through completion, including proposal development,
research execution and dissemination.* Author high-quality
deliverables including reports, white papers, policy briefs, memos,
and op-eds. * Conceptualize and lead events, including conferences,
panels, and roundtables, based on programmatic research
priorities.* Promote the program's analysis (including your own) to
a diverse set of stakeholders, including government officials,
policymakers, journalists, academics, and the public.* Build and
manage relationships with key external stakeholders.* Mentor junior
research staff, ensuring production of high-quality outputs.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: * 4-6 years of experience
working on mining-related matters in policy, industry, research or
government.* Strong research background with demonstrated
publication record. Experience working with both quantitative and
qualitative data strongly preferred.* Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to build and manage
relationships with external stakeholders, including industry,
government, academia, and the media.* Entrepreneurial mindset with
a proactive approach to identifying challenges, setting priorities,
and developing creative solutions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK
CONDITIONS: This position will be based out of our Washington DC
headquarters and is expected to be in-office 3+ days per week. The
physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an
employee working in an office environment. Reasonable
