Press Tab to Move to Skip to Content LinkSelect how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create AlertThis position, as "Product Owner", is accountable for defining and maximising the value creation from a product team - representing the business sponsor by prioritising and planning the product backlog, defining epics (high-level deliverables), and creating user stories (process tasks supported by granular deliverables).This role serves as an internal product expert for the business area and development teams, answering questions and clarifying requirements as needed. It oversees the strategic roadmap for the product, balancing the needs and risks for multiple stakeholders.This is a 15-month max term contract opportunity.Your Role in Action

  • Understand business and customer needs, aligned to strategic outcomes for the function.
  • Establish clear goals and success metrics linked to benefits for the function, ensuring reporting supports these key deliverables.
  • Define the product vision in alignment with function outcomes for the technical team. The product owner is the point person on the product development team, using their high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for development projects.
  • Manage the product backlog by creating the list of user stories and prioritising them based on the overall strategy and business objectives.
  • Prioritise needs by managing scope, budget, and time, weighing priorities according to stakeholder needs and objectives.
  • Oversee development stages by translating business vision and strategy into a product roadmap, release plans, and managing product priorities throughout planning, refinement, review, and sprint cycles.
  • Represent sponsors and business areas by understanding and anticipating business needs to manage prioritisation effectively. Engage business owners and subject matter experts as appropriate, leveraging deep market knowledge and communication skills.
  • Act as the primary liaison, serving as the main communicator and link between stakeholders and product teams. Ensure stakeholder buy-in on major decisions and product strategy, with clear instructions and deliverables.
  • Reduce technical debt by being accountable for addressing it in all priority considerations and maintaining transparency on the application's state.
  • Evaluate product progress at each iteration by inspecting and assessing progress through each development stage.
  • Monitor and report on benefits realised throughout various stages.What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • More than 4 years' experience in business analysis and product owner or product management roles.
  • Proven success in delivering project outcomes, including design, development, and implementation.
  • Demonstrated 4+ years of experience working in or leading projects using Agile methodology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for influencing senior management and guiding working groups.
  • Experience in developing requirements, process maps, product strategy, development roadmap, and delivering projects on plan.
  • Decisive with a proven ability to balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment.
