Washington, DC office.
Job Description:
ECS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System
Administrator to join our organization. We offer the chance to
support the world's finest law enforcement organization and help
the people that keep us safe. In this job you will support agents,
analysts, and professionals and technology they use to fight
terrorism, espionage, cyber-attacks, and major criminal
threats.
As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for
providing operational support to enterprise email and communication
enabled business processes to include instant messaging, voice -
and - video calling, and ad-hoc - and - structured conferences.
Support for these tools is across multiple enclaves, Unclassified,
Secret, and Top Secret/SCI networks. Day to day work may
include:
Responding to service requests from the end-user, other IT
professionals, and executive management.
Performing routine monitoring, maintenance, and administration of
application servers.
Implementing database changes in response to changes in the
customer's enterprise computing environment, such as new versions
and releases of application software, the introduction of new
computing hardware, and the virtualization of computing hardware to
host multiple logical servers.
At a minimum, the candidate shall be qualified to be a senior level
system administrator providing Tier-2 level support. The candidate
shall be proficient in operational support, maintenance, problem -
solving, and system administration of enterprise email and
communication servers.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Exchange team in maintaining 99%+ availability, not
including planned maintenance downtimes for Exchange, Outlook Web
Access (OWA) and Lync.
Manage distribution and security groups.
Provision, modify, and deprovision user and shared mailboxes.
Create, modify, and delete public folders.
Collaboration and knowledge sharing with other members of the
Exchange team, to include customer contractors and external
vendors.
Provide solutions to incidents relating to instant messaging, user
presence, peer-toper, multi-party voice and video calling, and ad
hoc and structured conferences (audio, video, and web).
Create, maintain, and deliver documentation relevant to the
applications supported by the customer to include AD, Exchange, and
Lync.
Proactively monitor the Exchange and Lync servers using either the
native application tools and/or established Enterprise Management
System (EMS) tools.
Install/renew server certificates.
Prepare and update Exchange O&M Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs); and
Provide ad-hoc reports in response to data calls or regular report
requirements.
The Exchange team currently provides a daily, weekly, and monthly
report for Exchange mail latency.
Trouble-shooting backups in relation to the servers.
Restore mailboxes related to a system outage.
Perform planned and unplanned server fail-overs for disaster
recovery purposes which entails utilization of Exchange servers at
multiple site locations
Operations and support:
Monitor servers to advise, troubleshoot, and perform preventative
functions to prevent outages. The contractor's personnel shall
review the properties currently monitored, and make recommendations
as needed to provide meaningful alerts;
Test and install system patches (security and functional
updates)
Test and perform minor hardware and software updates and upgrades
in response to business needs and/or IT obsolescence.
Required Skills:
Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of
obtaining SCI / CI-Poly if needed to meet contract requirements
BS degree
6 to 9 years of experience and excellent functional knowledge of
the following:
Exchange Server 2013 Platform administrator
Knowledge of other e-mail technologies
Intermediate reporting and analysis skills and proficiency with
Office programs, Word, PowerPoint
Migration of Mailbox & Mail-flow from Exchange 2003 to Exchange
2007/2010
Knowledge of Message Tracking and Log Analyzing
