Overview
Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Cybersecurity Specialist at the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC. Oasis Systems has worked extensively with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the special needs of its clients. We also work with aviation organizations around the world and provide management consulting services to other public and private entities. -
LOCATION: Washington, DC -
JOB STATUS:---Part-Time -
TRAVEL:---As needed -
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills) -
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to complete and pass a Public Trust Security background investigation. - (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants) -
EDUCATION:---Bachelor's degree in Information Assurance, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required -
CERTIFICATIONS: Possesses any industry recognized certification relevant to the work such as CISSP, CAP, CEH, etc. -
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 20 or more years of experience in accordance with the Educational Requirements listed above (with a Master's Degree, 17 years of experience is required OR with a PhD, 13 years of experience is required; in lieu of a degree 25 years of experience will be considered.) -
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:--- -


  • Self-motivated, independent thinker that requires minimal supervision -
  • FAA experience providing intra/inter-agency and private industry research and benchmarking -


    • Ideal candidate is a customer-service oriented problem solver with the ability to work independently and as part of diverse teams -
    • Excellent people skills-able to work with teams of varying sizes, technical abilities, and levels of authority with both internal corporate staff and teammates. An ability to work with many personality types and style preferences at the same time and help provide a constructive work environment -
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, organizational, critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, and interpersonal skills are essential -
    • Must be flexible in adapting to deadlines and changing priorities, has a pro-active attitude and a disciplined work ethic. A demonstrated flexibility of schedule and ability to handle last minute, short turnaround items. This includes an ability to quickly assess a situation or deliverable and then implement the most beneficial changes possible in the available time -
    • The ability to rebound and adapt quickly to sudden changes in deliverable requirements or deliverable expectations -


      • Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once -
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products. -

        ---RESPONSIBILITIES:--- -

        • Applies current computer science technologies to the design, development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security and provide information assurance. - -
        • Provides security engineering and integration support to internal and external customers. - -
        • Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, electronic data traffic, and network access. - -
        • Uses encryption technology; penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies; and information technology security research. -
        • Must perform Hyper-Connected Aircraft Security Analysis to identify and mitigate potential security threats -


          • Must identify security controls that mitigate security risks and for the desired framework -
          • Have experience creating security scenarios -
          • Have experience with ICAO documentation -
          • Experience with Connected Aircraft Security Controls (CASC) tool - -
          • Must be able to develop hyper connectivity scenarios containing high-level security risks -
