POSITION DESCRIPTION -The St. James is seeking Part-Time Softball Coaches at its Springfield, VA location. Candidates must enjoy working with accomplished as well as those with little or no softball experience. The ideal candidate will be committed to nurturing athletes in a supportive environment that supports goal setting, perseverance, and a love for the sport. This role will report to the Director of Softball. -The St. James is the premier sports, wellness and active entertainment destination brand in the country, with a mission to maximize human potential by designing, developing and operating sports, wellness and entertainment destinations that engage, inspire and empower people to pursue their passions and be their best at play, at work and in life. - Our flagship development in Springfield, Virginia features a premium health club, celebrity chef-inspired restaurant, premium medi-spa, 20,000 sq. ft. active entertainment center, as well as an indoor field house with FIFA-sized field, six softball and softball batting tunnels equipped with HitTrax, two NHL-regulation sized ice rinks, 52-meter Olympic competition pool and much, much more. - The St. James allows the whole family to pursue their passions in 30+ sports. - - -RESPONSIBILITIES -

Coach and instruct athletes, both individually and in groups, using appropriate softball developmental instructionAssist the Director of Softball and other coaches with organizing and supervising athletes in connection with practice, games, combines, and showcasesLead or assist practices Attend games for the team(s) you work withHelp maintain equipment and supplies in the Hitting HouseDevelop and sustain positive relationships with athletes, families and guests of The St. JamesSupporting the safety of all members, guests and employees. -QUALIFICATIONS -

Two or more years of successful coaching experience with demonstrated leadership ability for coaches and at least one year of experience for assistant coaches.Collegiate playing experience is a plus.Strong work ethic and organizational skillsGreat customer service and communication skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills Background check and drug screen requiredKnowledgeable of safety training, procedures and best practices used throughout the sports and wellness industry. -ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -For more information, please visit our website: -The St. James is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
