Job Description:

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement risk management strategies. This involves participating in new project/activity planning and discussions, assessing privacy risks, and advising on proactive curative and/or mitigation strategies to comply with the Privacy Act of 1974, the Evidence Act, FITARA, the E-Government Act and FOIA.
• Support Privacy functions to include all system of record processes such as Privacy Threshold Analyses, Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Act Statements, Privacy Policy Notices, SORNs, Forms Reviews, ODPAs, Routine Uses.As a Privacy Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring that the agency's data processing activities comply with privacy laws and industry standards. Job Responsibilities* Developing and implementing organizational policies and procedures related to data privacy and security. * Developing mitigation strategies for privacy risks. * Providing guidance and advice to teams across the organization on privacy issues and how to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. * Understanding of any new changes in privacy laws and regulations. * Ensuring compliance with privacy policies and procedures. * Ensuring that privacy requirements are met. * Involved in the establishment of strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. * Reviews processes and security protocols and makes recommendations for increased cyber security protection.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.Relevant Work Experience: 5-10 years of experience in systems security.Other Job Specific Skills * Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. *Exercises a limited degree of latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.* Excellent attention to detail.* Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.* Advanced knowledge of risk assessments, audits, and incident response protocols.#cjpost
