highly motivated, entrepreneurial Associate Scientist of Downstream
Process Development. This position resides within the Technical
Operations organization and requires fundamental understanding of
unit operations involved in protein
purification.Responsibilities:Perform lab-scale process development
experiments to identify optimal processing conditions for product
quality, step yield, and manufacturing flexibilityContribute to the
organization and build-out of new lab space and the creation and
improvement of departmental business processesAssist in process
characterization evaluations including risk assessments, design of
experiments, statistical data analysis, and development of control
strategies.Author technical reports covering a wide range of topics
including process development, characterization and technology
transfer, and delivery of presentations utilizing sound scientific
reasoning and interpretation of the available dataSupport the
review of transfer and manufacturing documentation such as batch
records, standard operating procedures, sample plans, protocols and
summary reportsProvide on-the-floor support of manufacturing
operations and collect and monitor key process performance data and
resultsBuild and maintain relationships with key partners,
collaborators, and contract development manufacturing
organizationsQualifications and Skills Required:Good understanding
of protein biochemistry and analytical techniques.Ability to
conduct experiments with minimal oversight, review data and present
to cross-functional teamsAbility to travel occasionally to
conferences and global manufacturing sites (approximately 10% time
required for travel)B.S. or M.S. in a scientific or engineering
discipline with a focus in a biochemical engineering field (e.g.,
chemical or biochemical engineering)M.S. with 0-2 years, B.S. with
