professional lives. Position Summary: Horizon is currently seeking
a cell-based assay specialist to support pre-clinical program
development in autoimmunity and inflammation. This person will be
responsible for overseeing the design and generation of cell lines
to facilitate biomolecule screening. This person will also be
responsible for the development and implementation of cell-based
and cell reporter gene-based assays.Position RequirementsLead
development of cell-based tools for screening biomoleculesGenerate
stable reporter gene cell lines to support multiple early-stage
pre-clinical programs, target validation work, and downstream
applicationsDesign, develop and execute cell-based screening
assaysCo-lead pre-clinical large molecule programsGenerate and
analyze experimental data; troubleshoot efficiently, prepare
written reports and impactful presentationsWork collaboratively as
part of a multifaceted team of protein engineers and disease area
experts and collaborate with other functions such as downstream
bioassay teams and translational teamsTrain other scientists in the
lab and clearly communicate scientific conceptsContribute to
evaluation of business development opportunitiesPresent scientific
data in internal and external meetingsQualifications and Skills
Required:Ph.D in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Cell Biology or
related field with 3+ years of postdoctoral and/or industry
experience or master's degree in Biotechnology/Molecular
Biology/Cell Biology or other related discipline with 8+ years of
industry/biomedical experience.Deep understanding of cell line
manipulation techniques (Lentivirus, CRISPR, etc.)Experience
designing reporter gene constructs and cell lines is requiredA
strong knowledge base of immunology, antibodies and/or
biotherapeutics is desirableExperience in multi-color flow
cytometry, tissue culture techniques, molecular techniques,
MSD/ELISA, cytotoxicity assays is desirablePerform lab work
independentlyExcellent organizational and record keeping
skillsOutstanding communication and presentation skillsStrong
