Job Description Job Summary: Data Society is looking for a
driven, detail-oriented Snowflake Database Engineer. You will be
responsible for the proper management, formatting, coding, and
accessing of a variety of PII. You will be supporting a team of
top-rate engineers, working alongside them to clarify the story
that their data tells. The team utilizes a variety of programming
and analytical tools, and the important part of working in this
role is being adept with database coding techniques and best
practices. As this position will help to support federal contracts
with security requirements, you must be a US Citizen to qualify.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop or modify procedures to solve complex database design
problems, including performance, scalability, security, and
integration issues.
- Design, develop, test, debug, monitor, and ensure applications
are compatible with complex databases.
- Work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues
requiring state-of-the art technical or industry knowledge.
- Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data
accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform design evaluations and develops program plans,
implementation, and business strategy.
- Compile data from multiple sources. Skills and Experience
Required:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited
institution.
- Work at a high technical level of all phases of database
engineering activities.
- Technical expertise in coding and logic specifications.
- Three (3) years of work experience working in enterprise data
management on projects of similar magnitude and complexity.
In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Sound knowledge of best practices in database engineering and
data security.
- Superior team-working skills, and a desire to learn,
contribute, and explore.
- Strong and verbal written communication skills. Strong critical
thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time
with or without notice. This position is flexible to be remote
anywhere within the USA, though preference will be given to
candidates in the metro Richmond, VA or Washington, DC areas.
Salary will be between $100,000 - $130,000 per year. In addition,
this position will be eligible for full benefits including
Unlimited PTO, 17 paid holidays in 2023, Healthcare, 401k, Metro
Transit subsidy, Paid Parental Leave, and Paid Disability.
