Overview

The Senior Information Security Engineer oversees the efforts of security staff to design, develop, engineer and implement solutions to security requirements.

Responsibilities

* Define, review and enforce information security policy, standards and guidelines for business operations and technology implementations.


* Proactively speculate and identify IT security risks from technical and functional perspectives.


* Conduct technical security assessments, audits, penetration testing, and forensic investigation/analysis of proposed/operational technologies (e.g., mobile applications, mobile devices, client/server IT systems, virtual platforms/environments, vehicle, and appliance IT systems) as necessary to support agency mission requirements.


* Configure and manage SIEM tools.


* Coordinate and lead security project implementations.


* Identify current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems



Qualifications

Required:

* BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Physical Science, or other technology-related discipline


* Proven experience (i.e. a minimum of ten (10) years) with security engineering.


* Minimum of ten (10) years of proven information systems security engineering experience.


* In-depth knowledge and management of one or more Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) tools is required.


* Possess hands-on experience in penetration testing and router/firewall management.


* Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.



Preferred:

* A working knowledge of several of the following areas is required:
* Cloud security - industry architectures, management and security tools


* Understanding of business best security practices and procedures


* Hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial cybersecurity products, and current Internet technology.
