Hughes has an exciting opportunity for an Intern - Buyer to work in our manufacturing and operation facility. This position will be located at our office in Gaithersburg, MD.
Responsibilities:

• Actively participate and assist with all Buyer activities.
• Responsible for the procurement and on-time delivery of production material needed to support our multiple product lines, all of which are built at our factory located in Gaithersburg, MD.
• Demand for production material is generated by an MRP system which is loaded by the Planning Department.
• With guidance, established network of contacts and suppliers, Buyer shall negotiate pricing and delivery requirements for a wide range of electronic components.
• Negotiations for secure supply and cost reductions with the existing supply base, as well as identifying alternate suppliers to achieve the same goals.Basic Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program related to the role
  • 60 credit hours more
  • 3.0 GPA or abovePreferred qualifications:
