Position Summary M.C. Dean is looking for a Senior MS SQL Database Engineer to be responsible for solution design, testing, and implementation. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross functionally to implement new solutions and solve complex challenges. This candidate will also serve as a mentor and a coach in developing employees to maximize their potential, meet their career objectives, and contribute to the success of M.C. Dean and customer outcomes. Responsibilities * Produce documentation for global initiatives following those through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams * Lead and mentor programmers, designers, technologists, technicians and other engineering or scientific personnel * Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures * Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations * Develop a software system testing and perform risk analysis (e.g., threat, vulnerability, and probability of occurrence) * Implement and document new and existing processes and standards for communication and consistency * Analyze application architecture and performance metrics, connectivity, and design in the context of industry best practices * Apply cybersecurity functions (e.g., encryption, access control, and identity management) to reduce exploitation opportunities * Identify security implications and apply methodologies within centralized and decentralized environments across the enterprise * Design and develop secure applications (e.g., Enterprise PKI, Federated Identity server, Enterprise AV solution) * Perform configuration management, problem management, capacity management, and financial management for databases and data management systems * Translate security requirements into application design elements including documenting the elements of the software attack surfaces, conducting threat modeling, and defining any specific security criteria * Perform integrated quality assurance testing, secure programing, and risk analysis * Maintain database management systems software Requirements: * Education Requirements: * 5-7 Years of Experience with a Master's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity * 7-9 Years of Experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity * Meet the KSATS listed under Work Role ID: 421 (NIST: OM-DA-001) * Must possess one of the following certifications: * CCNA-Security * GICSP * GSEC * Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI FSP Desired Qualifications: * Experience in the following tools: * Microsoft SQL Server 2019 * Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 19 * Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services * Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 * Azure Repos * Experience and Knowledge in: * Performing deployments and upgrades * Troubleshooting and resolving system outages and incidents * Cybersecurity principles and methods that apply to software development * Security architecture concepts and enterprise architecture reference models (e.g., Zackman, Federal Enterprise Architecture [FEA]) * Information technology (IT) risk management policies, requirements, and procedures * Network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services. Abilities: * Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. * Sitting for extended periods of time. * Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. * Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. * Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. * Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. * Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. * Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. * Identify and understand the speech of another person.
