Human Factors Engineer / Human Systems Integration Analyst
(Maritime)
Job Description: Provide Human Systems Integration (HSI) functions
in the domains of Human Factors Engineering, Habitability, System
Safety, Manpower and Personnel, Human
Performance Support and Training for detailed work from concept
phase to contract design.
Conduct research, development, design, testing, and modeling
functions to build design
standards and incorporate Human Systems Integration in all
associated domains. Work with
stakeholders to identify areas in ship design that require
improvement and increased
consideration for HSI.
Conduct studies of ship systems and spaces to factor human
interaction, habitability, system
safety considerations, manpower impacts, and human performance
support and training
interventions. Incorporate recommendations into ship specifications
and design.
Minimum: Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Human Factors
Engineering or related field, plus ten (10) years of relevant
experience
Minimum of 5 years' (10+ preferred) experience applying Human
Systems Integration (HSI) in a system design environment.
Minimum of 3 years' experience working on HSI issues in marine
environment.
Preferred Experience:
Developing, and/or reviewing, revising Human Systems Integration
CDRLS such as: Human
Systems Integration Program Plans (HSIPP), Human Engineering
Program Plans (HEPP),
Human Engineering Test Plans (HETP), Modeling and Simulation Plans
and Reports,
Manpower Mix Analysis Reports, Spatial and Link Analysis, Shipboard
Access Studies.
Referencing, interpreting, and applying Human Engineering Standards
such as MIL-STD-1472, ASTM 1166, and MIL-STD-46855.
Work Location: On site at government facility (Washington, DC)
