Aides -to provide our residents with daily care related to bathing,
grooming, medication administration, and other ongoing needs under
the supervision of senior nursing staff. Our ideal candidate has
completed CMA training, obtained appropriate licensure, and
combined tact and good communication skills with a commitment to

Responsibilities of the -Certified Medication Aide (CMA):
Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral
and/or topical medications that are commonly used.
Verify the identity of the resident before administering the
medication/treatment.
Document any instance where prescribed medication is not
administered, including reason(s) for refusal.
Assist with medication charting as directed by the Nurse
Supervisor/Charge Nurse, as directed.
Verify that adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies,
and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the
residents. -Report needs to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary,
and in accordance with established procedures.
Notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of all drug and narcotic
discrepancies noted on your shift.
Review medication cards for completeness of information, accuracy
in the transcription of the physician's order and adherence to stop
order policies.
Assist with resident food service during and between meals and
feeding and positioning patients as needed.
Provide basic nursing care as required, from checking vital signs
to administering dressings, treatments, and taking tests. -
Maintain and add to records of resident health and care and
documenting actions via forms, reports, records, and logs.

Requirements of the Certified Medication Aide (CMA):
- - - - - - - - - -High school diploma or GED -
- - - - - - - - - -Completion of state-approved CNA/GNA training

- - - - - - - - - -Completed CMA training
- - - - - - - - - -Successful competition of the Maryland
Competency Examination for the Geriatric Nursing Assistant
- - - - - - - - - -Certified Medication Aide licensure in Maryland
(*unable to employ CMT/Certified Medication Techs)
