The Online Learning Programs Specialist is responsible for the coordination and administration of online learning experiences to further enhance the careers of trainees (i.e., medical students, residents, fellows, pre and post docs) and junior faculty in hematology in North America and around the globe in support of the following professional development training programs: Clinical Research Training Institute in North America (CRTI-NA), Clinical Research Training Institute in Latin America (CRTI-LA), Clinical Research Training Institute/Trainee Day in Asia-Pacific (CRTI/TD-APAC), Clinical Research Training Institute/Trainee Day in Mediterranean (CRTI/TD-MED), Medical Education Institute (MEI), Hematology Review Series (HRS), online Teaching Cases, and the Classical Hematology Curriculum (CHC). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job) Overarching Job Duties:

  • Work with the Career Development Programs Manager to organize and implement virtual study sections in support of the CRTI and MEI programs
  • Manage and execute webinars and virtual conference calls for the department's training services and recruitment and retention programs and initiatives, including liaising with speaking faculty and scheduling virtual sessions
  • Create and administer online program evaluations
  • Manage the development and promotion of the online Classical Hematology Curriculum
  • Foster the further development and promotion of the online Teaching Cases
  • Work with the Career Development Programs Manager to develop and implement the ASH Hematology Review Series
  • Develop online communities for ASH's career development programs to provide further resources and networking opportunities for trainees and junior faculty in hematology Other Job Duties:
    • Collaborate with the ASH Communications department on the development and delivery of professional development program marketing
    • Ensure the accurate maintenance of departmental databases in Personify, handling some confidential information
    • Attend and/or support ASH-sponsored meetings and events outside of normal working hours (evenings and/or weekends), including the ASH Annual Meeting. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED (Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately)
      • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or other related field
      • A minimum of three years of program management experience
      • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and follow-through skills
      • Experience utilizing online tools and telecommunication services such as Zoom, Teams, and other learning management systems
      • Experience and proficiency in the use of databases; working knowledge of Personify, SharePoint, and/or Salesforce preferred
      • Excellent customer service skills including ability to deescalate problems with a calm demeanor, and diplomacy
      • Ability to effectively collaborate with others, demonstrating model behaviors
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening and ability to synthesize information from diverse audiences (i.e., colleagues, members, and volunteers)
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
      • Strong customer service orientation
      • Experience in handling confidential informationPrior experience in a not-for-profit environment preferred
        ASH has a hybrid work environment, with core in-office days for all ASH staff on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and telework on Mondays and Fridays for eligible positions.
