Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Development & Communications Associate is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and communication activities. The Development & Communications Associate plays an important role by providing administrative support to the Fund Development & Communications Office and participating in all fundraising activities including donor relations, marketing and communications, direct mail appeals, and special events. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive can-do attitude. RESPONSIBILITIES --- Support the Director of Development in all aspects of development and communication department. --- Grant Writing and Reporting: Draft compelling grant reports in compliance with grantor guidelines and deadlines, working in partnership with NCC---s program teams as necessary. Identify and research new potential funders. Develop grant proposals and letters of inquiry to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating the organization's mission and programs to potential funders. Continuously improve the quality of proposals and reports. --- Grants Management: Respond to ongoing requests for supplemental information and data from funders. Maintain a calendar/grant tracking system to ensure timely completion of all proposals and reports. -- Database Management: entering, and tracking donors in Salsa Labs database, creating thank you letters, account reconciliation as well as manage relationships in the database and communicate accordingly with various stakeholders (Board of Directors, Executive Director, and the Director of Fund Development) for updates. -- Support Development Committee and attend bi-monthly meetings. --- Coordinate with finance department to ensure records are complete and accurate in the Salsa Labs database and accounting system. --- Research and implement new processes for database and event tracking efficiency. -- Manage a small portfolio of individual donors to ensure continued giving. --- Provide support for additional development-related administrative tasks (lists, reports etc.) Communications --- Support of campaign messaging efforts through social media, website and digital communications as needed. --- Assist in creation of marketing and communications collateral and manage social media accounts. --- In conjunction with the webmaster, maintain and update the NCC website. --- Work with the development director and communications assistant to establish effective communication strategies and useful metrics --- Provide design and layout for publications and online material --- Produce and/or generate unique online content (eg. videos, infographics, photos) that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action such as awareness-raising, fundraising, list-building, etc. QUALIFICATIONS --- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. --- Excellent oral and written communication skills. --- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM database entry. Salsa Labs experience preferred. --- Comfortable engaging with individual donors and sponsors. --- Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment to prioritize and meet deadlines. --- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission of NCC DC's Department of Health/DDS regulations mandate that all applicants be fully vaccinated and have received their booster to be considered for employment Company Description We pride ourselves on our staff of highly qualified professionals.
