(IMSG) www.imsg.com, a Federal Government Contractor, is seeking to
hire a Support Scientist to join our team at NOAA/NESDIS/Center for
Satellite Applications Research (STAR). IMSG currently supports
NOAA/STAR's Atmospheric Science and Technology Applications
contract in applied research and development working environment
along with U.S. government scientists, visiting scientists, and
other contractors. The Support Scientist will provide MetOp-SG
program management support to meet STAR
missions.ResponsibilitiesProvide programming and algorithm
development supportWork with NOAA government staff, interact with
science teams and participate in algorithm and product readiness
reviews, documentation, presentations and publications.Coordinate
MetOp-SG Project Portfolio management activitiesOther duties as
assigned to meet project progress requirements QualificationsMS
equivalent with experience in computer programming for remote
sensing and data application. Experience of IDL and other graphic
tools (Matlab, Python, etc.)Familiarity with scientific data
formats such as HDF, netCDF, and GRIBExperience with shell
scriptingStrong communication skills (oral and written)Demonstrated
experience in writing scientific and technical documents.Good
interpersonal and team-work skills Candidates must be a U.S.
Citizen or Green Card Holder to qualify (US Citizen must live in US
