Job Description:

Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing engineering expertise in the field of RF compliance for structures equipped with AM detune apparatus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance on AM detune issues to customers

Perform AM RF Impedance Measurements using measurement test tools on AM station towers

Review engineering reports for quality assurance and compliance standards

Provide guidance on AM detuning projects to internal team and external customers

Create and maintain the process for standards for engineering and field work in support of operations

Oversee and/or perform non-standard AM engineering projects

Perform job scoping and support pricing for projects

Support customers on technical project issues

Collaborate with software developers to improve internal and external AM tools for efficiency and accuracy

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education: Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field; Society of Broadcast Engineers certification preferred


Five years experience in AM RF Engineering

Knowledge of AM compliance regulations and FCC rules

Knowledge of wireless communications industry preferred

Experience working with directional AM antenna systems

Technical Skills:

Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

Ability to use AM RF measurement tools such as field strength meters, impedance bridges, Vector Network Analyzers, etc.

Ability to use NEC modeling tools such as MiniNEC

Proficient in RF engineering including AM Detune Systems, AM non-directional and directional Antenna Systems

Soft Skills:

Highly organized and detail oriented

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines

Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams

Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement, and solve problems

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

Must have a valid driver s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements

Ability to site at a desk for 6-8 hours per day

Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours per day

May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including short notice travel. Travel includes local site travel or national travel depending on business needs.
