If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE-and make a difference with us.MITRE is seeking a Group Leader (GL) with expertise in Law Enforcement (LE) technologies to be a critical player in building and leading a high performing team focused on LE operational missions. This is a growth position, requiring a highly motivated and self-starting individual with the desire to keep pace with the constant challenges of an expanding work program focused on sponsor mission operations. The candidate should be comfortable with interacting and leading a diverse team of technical subject matter experts, operational experts, project leaders and senior department and division staff focused on outcome delivery against Mission Operators Division and Sponsor goals.The Law Enforcement Technologies Group will focus on a diverse set of enabling technologies for tactical edge networks, ISR, LE all-source intelligence and Cybercrime investigations with the expectation to help the division to manage staff and activities that cut across our sponsor work program. Additionally, the GL will identify gaps, bring to bear MITRE internal research and capability platforms to ensure solutions offered by the projects will have the greatest technical impact on the sponsor's most difficult problems. The GL is expected to establish external partnerships and build internal partnerships within the division and across MITRE to foster collaboration towards solving LE mission challenges.This GL position requires strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively supervise, develop, and manage team members. In addition, the candidate will work close with the department manager to ensure the delivery of quality technical products, staff recruitment, development, and placement, and provide input into the growth of the department work program.The successful candidate is expected to:* Serve as Direct Supervisor (DS) and provide overall leadership for group members that facilitates the professional and career development of group staff through positive leadership, coaching, instruction, and mentoring.* Provide timely and regular feedback to staff on performance and goal development.* Assess technical risks and opportunities that inform program strategies and investment decisions.* Bring to bear cutting-edge LE technologies through the establishment of capability stewards that develop, enhance, and build mastery of key technology areas.* Help build and maintain a strong work program and technically proficient staff within the department and division.* Provide strong thought/technical leadership and serve as one of the domain experts in the group while actively contributing to the technical work program.Required Qualifications:* Demonstrated technical breadth in law enforcement and/or intelligence missions.* Demonstrated record of strong leadership skills.* Demonstrate ability to lead development teams.* Track record of innovative thinking* Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills* Understanding of LE missions and operations* BS in engineering field with + 5 years of experience in LE operations* Motivation to expand knowledge and skills and assume responsibility.* Ability to manage and guide staff in their professional development.Preferred Qualifications:* Deep knowledge of cyber threats and analysis methods, and knowledge of intelligence community methods and products* Familiarity with MITRE research and capabilities in cyber operations* Demonstrated ability to work with sponsors at a senior level to identify key technical problems and opportunities.Minimum Education/Experience:* BS in Engineering (EE, CS, Data Science) and 5 years of related experience or MS and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experience.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):SecretThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCIMITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
