Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this full-time position is providing strategic thought partnership and counsel to the President and Chief Executive Officer. The Chief-of-Staff supports the CEO in matters related to governance and social sector compliance and oversees strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution in partnership with Leadership Team members. Secondary responsibility is representing the CEO and organization within and curation of external partnerships and strategic alliances, communicating on behalf of and in the voice of the CEO. Working from the Executive Office, duties include strategic planning, project management, board support, organizational development, and executive communications. The position positively impacts enterprise-wide productivity and impact. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leadership and team management roles, with specific emphasis on interdepartmental collaboration.


  • Provide advice and counsel to the President & CEO
  • Partner with other members of the Executive Office and Executive Leadership Teams to develop and monitor alignment of organizational, programmatic, and operational strategy
  • Effectively steward multi-sector and external partnerships on behalf of CDF and the CEO
  • Manage portfolio of critical relationships, including members of CDF's board, providing direct support to assigned committees and strategic partners
  • Lead targeted organizational effectiveness and development efforts, including off-sites and planning retreats
  • Ensure compliance with highest standards for social sector governance and management
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications
  • Assist and communicate with leaders in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Review, design, and execute on improvements to organizational structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
    Education and/or Experience
    A minimum of seven (10) years of experience in executive or management role. A minimum of a bachelor's degree. Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Juris Doctorate is preferred. Years of education may be considered for experience.
