We Are Hiring! The Urgent Care Center with Providence Health System, part of Ascension in Washington, D.C. is hiring for a full-time Radiology Technologist. When you join Providence Health System, you will join a team of caregivers committed to caring for our community and for one another. As a Radiology Technologist, you will join a supportive and caring group of professionals to deliver safe and efficient radiology services to our patients. As a Radiology Technologist, you provide key results to our Radiologists so that our patients receive critical information in regards to their health.

 

Work Schedule: Full-time working Monday through Friday; 2pm to 10pm.

 

What You Need: 

  • Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association required
  • Active Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) required in the State of Maryland and District of Columbia
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree or technical degree required

What You Will Do:

Take radiologic films providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.

  • Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech.
    • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
