  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly define and articulate both objectives and outcomes of their research
  • A demonstrated capacity for advanced research approaches to solve complex problems

Appointment Terms

  • This is a full time, 1-year, postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds and ongoing operational needs.
  • Full benefit package provided.
  • Successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States through the full duration of the appointment.

Additional Job Information:

This position will support:

  • The establishment of a new Equitable Decarbonization Interest Group and research roadmap;
  • Cultivation of both internal and external collaborative networks to inform equitable decarbonization dialogue for the power industry and EPRI research;
  • Development of materials for and execution of meetings to update on project status, analysis, and findings; and
  • Gathering critical information from literature review activities, interviews, and various stakeholders to produce useful reports.

The following is also preferred of interested candidates:

  • A strong understanding of equity and how electric power companies can strategically address this topic;
  • Cultural competence, with the ability to form and maintain productive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building coalitions of cross-EPRI experts to support project execution;
  • Experience in supporting research activities and/or relative work experience applicable to developing community outreach strategies and programming;
  • Practiced in using and integrating racial equity and intersectional frameworks and analysis in research study designs, written reports, and briefs;
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills, creatively approaching problem solving grounded in expertise, experience, and EPRI research;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with EPRI membership at all levels (including executive leadership), as well as write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience;
  • Ability to exercise judgment, diligence, and attention to detail and demonstrates an aptitude for carrying out technical assignments;
  • Curiosity and attention-to-detail balanced by focus on task-oriented goal completion;
  • Experience working on multiple projects concurrently; and
  • A positive attitude, always committed to success.

EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
