Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years' experience providing network consulting
  • At least 5 years' experience providing private/hybrid/public cloud configurations, migrations, patterns, and practices.
  • Cloud networking consulting, design, patterns, and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree
  • CCIE or equivalent experience

Key professional qualifications

Passion for our customers demonstrated through professionalism and excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.

Ability to assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from and/or integrating with the customer's non-Microsoft platforms.

Strong confidence, teamwork, ability to lead, promote collaboration, and professionally represent Microsoft in challenging environments and customer situations.

Key areas of technical expertise include one or more of the following:

  • Azure ExpressRoute (including ExpressRoute Direct and Global Reach)
  • Azure virtual network constructs: VNets, Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Virtual WAN
  • Multi-vendor firewall solutions: PaloAlto, Fortigate, Checkpoint, Cisco
  • Multi-vendor web application firewall solutions: F5, Citrix, Imperva, Fortinet, Barracuda
  • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS
  • WAN services: dark fiber and lit wave, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, CWDM, DWDM
  • EVPN VXLAN Consultantures
  • One or more of the following scripting skills: Python, Ruby, Perl, JSON, Ansible, Terraform

The successful candidate will possess some of the following additional skills:

  • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud technologies in large scale enterprises.
  • Technical and consulting knowledge of Unix/Linux, Kubernetes/Containerization and Microsoft Azure Infrastructure services.
  • Ability to design, create, and deliver to solution frameworks.
  • Experience giving presentations to executive audiences and linking technical solutions to business outcomes.


Travel is an integral part of this position. You should be willing to travel as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business.

This position requires approximately 25% overnight travel if you reside or are willing to relocate within commuting distance to the work.

This position may require up to 75% overnight travel

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.


The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.

The Consultant in Microsoft Consulting Services delivers technical solutions to customers allowing them to maximize their investment in Microsoft technology. Building upon solid IT project experience consultants will work with Microsoft's partners to assist customers in the delivery of high quality engagements around Microsoft's solution areas, technologies, services and products in diverse client environments.

  • Uses business, technology, and industry strategies to define customer/partner requirements and constraints.
  • Drives and Supports innovation focusing on industry solutions and customer business outcomes on the Microsoft platform.
  • Balances Configure-Before-Customize principles with the goals of maximum customer/partner value and with the use of Microsoft core/baseline assets, people, products, and tools.
  • Develops project plans that use the full project life cycle accounting for current & future business value of each solution while defining all technical dependencies for project.
  • Demonstrates the ability to articulate value propositions for the most strategic Microsoft products and services.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a specific solution, or several products, feature functions, or services.
  • Ensure solutions align with the intent of the architecture allowing for clear build test specifications and development of operations guides for the customer.
  • Identifies business and technical risks in programs, assesses their impact, and proposes mitigations and contingencies.
  • Provides stakeholder assistance throughout deployment to avoid/resolve technical issues.
