Job Description:

Finsbury Glover Hering (FGH), a leading strategic communications and government affairs consulting firm, is seeking an insightful, sharp Human Resources professional to join the firm's Corporate Operations Division. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. headquarters.The HR Associate will play an essential role in ensuring smooth operations for the People team and FGH employees. Candidates should have an interest in learning the discipline of Human Resources while gaining valuable experience in the HR profession. This position requires discretion, good judgment and a high degree of confidentiality. The HR Associate will work with employees at all levels within the firm, requiring strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. RESPONSIBILITIES* Provide administrative support to FGH's North America Chief Operating Officer, including coordinating internal and external meetings, preparing expense report, managing travel, etc. * Provide recruiting support for various divisions when necessary * Update staff lists, onboarding documents, and maintain monthly staffing reports* Coordinate new hire onboarding schedule and assist in preparing for new hires* Assist with FGH intern program, including offering support with recruiting, onboarding, program design, etc. * Ensure office-wide compliance with mandatory online policy acknowledgements and training with regular reminders and follow up* Respond to routine HR questions when applicable * Offer benefits support to employees when applicable * Become fully fluent in and maximize a variety of HR systems and tools* Work side by side with subject matter experts to develop HR programs that align with department and company goals* Partner with the People team on priorities and projects as needed, including but not limited to the firm's annual performance review cycle, FGH's Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, and Learning & Development programs* Assist the Corporate Operations and People team as neededATTRIBUTES* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred* Viewed as trustworthy, reliable and accessible point of contact for employees* Ability to work with direction, manage own time and handle multiple projects simultaneously* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and comfort communicating at all levels of the organization with confidence* Willingness to take initiative to suggest to ideas, opportunities, and strategies* A demonstrated capacity for teamwork* Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and urgency for job responsibilities* Demonstrates discretion and tact in working with confidential information.--Is able to be action-oriented and perform well in an unstructured or ambiguous environment* A fast learner, with a can-do attitude and a calm professional demeanour* Knowledge in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills including planning, prioritization and follow up* Adaptability to in the work environment and ability to manage competing demands, dealing with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
