Front Desk Administrative Assistant - Bilingual Patient Intake Coordinator Breast Care for Washington - Washington, DC 20032 Bellevue area Position: Bilingual Patient Intake Coordinator Breast Care for Washington is a unique community-based breast imaging center co-located with a Federally Qualified Health Center which affords patients the opportunity to receive one-stop critical healthcare services. Our mission is to reduce breast cancer mortality in the Washington, DC Metro area by promoting access to breast cancer screening, diagnostics, and treatment to all women regardless of their ability to pay. We are the only breast imaging center to routinely and consistently provide care and full-service patient navigation for underserved women. Breast Care for Washington operates a mobile mammography program with a variety of screening partners across the District and Prince Georges County in Maryland. What We Need: Breast Care for Washington is seeking a full-time, Bilingual Patient Intake Coordinator to provide patient support and assistance for patients seen at the fixed site and for our mobile mammography program. The ideal candidate will have healthcare knowledge of specialty services, to include women s health, imaging services, and expertise of electronic health records. Primary Responsibilities/Job Functions: Providing linguistically and culturally appropriate intake services for patients Managing patient appointment system to include scheduling, preparation of daily patient lists, and required follow-up services needed in healthcare coordination Greeting of patients and/or their representatives and providing appropriate direction to assist in patient care needs Data entry proficiency to include data entry work, database maintenance, and auditing of entered work for accuracy and completion Responsible for Breast Care for Washington correspondence to include, sending screening results and reminder letters Conduct appointment reminder phone calls, identify and address transportation and other barriers to care as well as follow-up for patients who have missed appointments Collecting/processing co-payments, deductibles and/or other types of payments Demonstrated Skillset in the Following: Interviewing the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completing the registration/intake process Identification of applicable assistance programs where no insurance coverage has been identified Appropriate communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements that best match patient s needs 2 - P a g e Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage and obtaining necessary precertifications/authorizations when applicable Assisting patients with identifying additional resources necessary for continuity of care needs and documenting all referral requests Manage program components for uninsured patients e.g., Project WISH to include verification of residence and income eligibility for program participation and assist patients in completing relevant program applications Excellent verbal and phone communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary to conduct work Ability to multi-task for front desk coverage needs and assist other BCW staff, as needed Customer Service skills with Public Facing responsibilities is expected in this role Other duties as assigned, with reporting and accountability to Supervisor s Job Type: Full-time Education: H.S.
