Job DescriptionHistology Assistant 1 Inova Laboratories is the only locally based, full service laboratory in Northern Virginia, offering hospital quality and same-day results for many tests. Using state of the art automation and equipment, Inova Laboratories seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve - every time, every touch.Inova is seeking a FULL-TIME Day shift Histology Assistant 1 . Some of the duties include:* Obtain and process pathology specimens maintaining positive specimen identification, assist histology technicians, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure the quality preparation of all specimens. * Perform coverslip and appropriately label slides to aid in diagnostic evaluation. * Perform all clerical and computer tasks necessary to support the quality operation of the department. * Process, prepare, and stain cytology specimens to ensure quality results and accurate diagnosis by the cytologist/pathologist. * Assist with FNA and bone marrow procedures as required. * Communicates to maintain team knowledge, demonstrates knowledge of regulatory standards in order to satisfy compliance requirements, and participates in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team, and department development. Additional Information: * Shift and schedules will be determined by the department needs working Monday to Friday. * Work location will be Inova Loudoun Hospital Pathology department until the work transitions to our Inova Cental Lab sometime in 2021.
