Why choose between doing meaningful work and having a fulfilling
life? At MITRE, you can have both. That's because MITRE people are
committed to tackling our nation's toughest challenges—and we're
committed to the long-term well-being of our employees. MITRE is
different from most technology companies. We are a not-for-profit
corporation chartered to work for the public interest, with no
commercial conflicts to influence what we do. The R&D centers
we operate for the government create lasting impact in fields as
diverse as cybersecurity, healthcare, aviation, defense, and
enterprise transformation. We're making a difference every
day—working for a safer, healthier, and more secure nation and
world. Our workplace reflects our values. We offer competitive
benefits, exceptional professional development opportunities, and a
culture of innovation that embraces diversity, inclusion,
flexibility, collaboration, and career growth. If this sounds like
the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE—and make a
difference with us.
Use Artificial Intelligence to solve problems for a safer world!
At MITRE we work across the whole of government on big problems
that challenge our nation’s stability. We use our strengths to
build coalitions of collaboration that strengthen government and
create positive change for citizens. You can be a part of this! Our
work programs need technical leaders who have a passion for
applying AI to solve hard problems.
MITRE’s Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems
Department is seeking top individuals with a passion for artificial
intelligence, experience and proficiency with ontology and
information semantics, as well as one or more of the following
technical areas: knowledge-based reasoning, cognitive science,
multi-agent systems, automated planning, and machine learning.
Our ideal candidate is experienced in developing solutions for
the representation, management, exchange, and exploitation of
meaningful data, by using information semantics, ontological
engineering, reasoning and inference, text mining, and data mining.
Requirements include proficiency with ontology design and
development, extensive experience with knowledge-management systems
and applications using ontologies, and familiarity with
implementations conformant to established standards (including W3C
Recommendations) for ontology and information semantics.
Additionally, they have solid experience in other AI
At MITRE, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range
of challenges while leading and/or working with interdisciplinary
teams to design, develop, and field AI solutions that improve the
effectiveness of our sponsors’ programs. You will have
opportunities to shape the technical and programmatic direction of
programs by analyzing existing and anticipated problems and
evaluating potential solutions. Your experience will allow you to
assess the adequacy and maturity of current research programs,
influence research directions, and identify emerging areas where
research and development are needed to strengthen the nation’s
growing AI capabilities.
