Job Description:
Sysco, a world leader in food product distribution, is seeking a
reliable and experienced Class A CDL Delivery Truck Driver to join
our dynamic team. As an integral part of our supply chain, you will
play a crucial role in delivering high-quality food products to a
diverse range of clients including restaurants, hospitals, schools,
and hospitality sectors. This position not only requires excellent
driving skills but also a commitment to safety and customer
service, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to help our
clients thrive. Operate a Class A CDL vehicle to transport food
products to various customer locations in a safe and timely manner.
Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes,
fuel, oil, and water. Adhere to company operating policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory
requirements. Maintain accurate logbooks of driving activities to
comply with federal regulations governing the rest and work periods
for operators. Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations
personnel to report delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment
breakdowns, or other transportation issues. Manage paperwork,
including bills of lading, invoices, and other necessary documents.
Assist with loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring that cargo is
secured properly complying with safety requirements. Proficiency in
operating a Class A commercial vehicle, including familiarity with
GPS and route management tools. Strong organizational skills to
ensure proper handling and delivery of sensitive materials. Ability
to read, interpret, and document according to instructions and
established procedures. Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules
and regulations. No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years.
