Job Description:
Are you an experienced patent prosecution paralegal looking for
a challenging opportunity to further develop your skills and work
with a top-ranked international law firm? Our firm is seeking a
Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property
Department in our Washington, DC office.
As a valued member of our team of attorneys, paralegals, and
support staff, you will provide high-quality support for all types
of U.S. and foreign patent activities under the supervision of
attorneys. You will work collaboratively with other team members to
ensure a high level of service to both internal and external
clients.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in filing U.S., PCT, and foreign regional patent
applications and responses , both electronically and on paper
Overall support for all aspects of portfolio management
Correspond with foreign associates and prepare reporting letters to
clients
Review and manage docket for deadlines and understand the docket
and deadlines for each file
Assist in patent filing strategy discussions and due diligence
Utilize Case Assistants or contract resources to prepare and file
Information Disclosure Statements
Maintain accurate daily time records for client billing
purposes
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of experience as a patent prosecution
paralegal or comparable position
Four-year degree or equivalent law firm experience preferred
Familiarity with USPTO procedures, rules, and requirements
Strong proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office
Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, and other internet research
tools
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work
independently, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects
simultaneously
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to
compose routine correspondence
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under
pressure
Strong work ethic, flexible, dependable, and positive can-do
attitude
This is a full-time, regular position with a hybrid work schedule
that includes in-office work days as well as remote work days. We
offer a multi-faceted health benefit package, life insurance,

holidays and paid time off. The pay range for this position in
Washington, DC only is $45.89 to $68.87 per hour.
