We litigate nationwide, design and implement enforcement programs, negotiate transactions, and provide strategic counsel on intellectual property, entertainment, and other legal issues.Your Role:As a Legal Assistant, job duties are diverse and include investigating and conducting research to support legal proceedings, drafting and reviewing legal documents, developing, organizing, and supporting cases, both pre-litigation and during litigation. The job involves exercising sound judgment and taking pride in tackling projects in a creative, practical, and value-added manner.Responsibilities Include: -

  • Assist in administrative duties as needed
  • Correspond with clients, banks, and other federal and local government institutions
  • Attend to docket notifications for each of the ongoing cases
  • Manage scheduling for deadlines, depositions, meetings, and travel
  • Group, organize, and review pre-litigation documents and exhibits for witnesses
  • Create letters, memos, and various documents as needed for attorney use
  • Assist in the drafting and -reviewing of subpoenas, ECF filings, and internal documents
  • Conduct and analyze legal research, as well as Federal and Local Rules per case
  • Retrieve copyright and trademark information for ongoing or future litigation matters
  • Keep in regular contact with each attorney to begin/continue assigned projectsAbout You:The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree, is a team player with strong organization skills, effective communication skills, keen attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to work independently. Strong computer skills (particularly with Microsoft Office, familiarity navigating online marketplaces, and familiarity with general database concepts) are a must. --- 2-3 years previous Paralegal experience May consider candidates with other legal field/legal research experience --- Mastery of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw, SharePoint & Mac OSX --- Knowledge of Pacer/ECF and USPTO filing systems --- Ability to prioritize and multitask while meeting tight or short-notice deadlines --- Superb written and verbal communication skills --- Detail-orientation, tremendous organization, and flexibility --- Positive attitude and ability to work well in groups or teamsTo apply, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter. - -The office is located in Tenleytown, DC, one block from the metro.
