The Firm has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years' experience in complex trial and appellate litigation. We are located between two Metro stops on M Street, near Dupont Circle, in a newly renovated building, featuring a new lobby, new tenant lounge, new conference center and new fitness center.Salary:Salary commensurate with experience.Requirements:The candidate must be admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a full-time practicing attorney in complex litigation. Licensure in Maryland, and/or Virginia in addition to DC enhances employment prospects. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work independently without intense supervision and must be collaborative and motivated to succeed in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials and have strong written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate must have substantial experience with motions practice, discovery disputes, trial preparation, research skills and demonstrated writing skills. Knowledge of general legal principles in contracts, constitutional law, real property, domestic relations, torts and administrative law is required and essential. The successful candidate must understand, apply and be able to articulate the District of Columbia and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and evidence and methods and requirements of legal discovery and legal research. Candidates must be able to organize workload, prioritize tasks; and work under strict deadlines and under the pressures of a litigation environment. Ability to work in a fast paced, leanly staffed environment with a varied caseload is critical and be well versed in Microsoft; Adobe; Lexis/Nexis; Westlaw; and standard electronic discovery platforms (e.g., Concordance or Relativity).Return to Workplace:The Firm is operating at its office location.
