Job Description:
Do you want to be part of a team focused on making AWS the
worlds most trusted cloud services provider to National Security,
Defense, and National Law Enforcement mission customers around the
world? Are you a details-oriented technical program manager looking
for an opportunity to work on solving some of the world’s most
interesting and pressing customer challenges? Do you want the
opportunity to lead bar raising technical roadmap discussions with
AWS builder teams? Are you adept at earning trust across diverse
stakeholder teams to reach commitments, and then deliver outcomes
across independent teams? If you are ready to step into a role that
balances global customer facing engagements with internal service
owner engagements across Amazon Web Services, this may be the next
role you are looking for. Key job responsibilities In your role,
you will be part of a technical solutions team focused on
supporting common National Security, Defense, and National Law
Enforcement interests operating in hyper-scale commercial cloud.
Your specific role will be Senior Technical Program Manager
responsible for a portfolio of technical programs supporting
multiple governments delivering on mission workloads in the cloud.
Your responsibilities will begin and end with thinking like an
owner. This includes engaging with customers, collecting data,
distilling voice of customer to produce cloud service feature
requests and driving them to completion, earning trust among
diverse customers and AWS internal stakeholder teams, and bringing
organization and rational prioritization to a portfolio of diverse,
concurrent, and seeming unrelated actions. As a owner/builder at
Amazon, you will rely on and be asked to author and own compelling
data driven narratives designed to lead technical service builder
teams to understand and commit to delivering new bar raising
outcomes. You embrace accountability to include tracking and
reporting progress using outcome focused metrics (data), AWS common
practices, and mechanisms. A day in the life Your time will be
balanced between working with AWS service teams, service product
owners, and senior service manager owners to understand,
prioritize, and manage service feature enhancements tied to voice
of customer. The other half of your day will be spent working with
our global field teams and directly with customers to gain voice of
customer perspectives, and develop cloud adoption commitments tied
to specific feature enhancements. You will be asked to combine
these two perspectives to establish, manage, and report a portfolio
of technical projects spanning multiple AWS service teams and
dependent customer facing project. About the team Our team is
global in both perspectives and in physical locations. The
diversity of mission, and operational context makes our customer
community both challenging and exciting. Our customers think
differently, act differently, and are by definition scrappy because
of their relative small size and exposure to risk compared to
larger national security and defense programs and countries. We
work hard, have fun, and we make history in terms of breaking
through long held mental models. Join our team to learn more.
