Your Impact:The Radar Division participates in the NRL's efforts to test and evaluate and conduct research and development efforts into these systems. Their efforts are critical to the development of technologies which increase our effectiveness in Electronic Protection (EP) capabilities. The branch actively participates in field testing of these technologies, supporting advanced testing exercises to improve the warfighter's Electronic Warfare (EW) battle management capabilities. The Naval Research Laboratory is the premier lab and research facility for the Navy and Marine Corps. The purpose of this effort is to assist the Naval Research Laboratory's (NRL) Surveillance Technology group with technical research and development support for a variety of on-going radar signal processing research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts. The Naval Research Laboratory's (NRL) Surveillance Technology Branch is performing technical research and development support for a variety of radar signal processing efforts. Responsibilities: The Radar Division of the Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement to adapt, and in some cases combine, internally developed software code for systems like the Flexible Distributed Array Radar (FlexDAR) and the Maritime Over the Horizon Radar (MOTHR) for future related efforts that can benefit from this mature code-base. This software has been primarily developed with C++, but several other high-level languages have also been utilized such as C, Matlab and Python. This task requires the modification of existing NRL software to develop capabilities such as real-time adaptive beamforming, radar signal processing, detection, tracking, and waveform scheduling as related to both HF and microwave radar systems. This task also requires the modification and adaptation of existing NRL provided software to develop new capabilities in resource management for multifunction (radar, electronic warfare, and communications) systems. #divergent Here's What You'll Need:

• Secret or higher clearance
• Minimum of 4 years of experience
• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and at least six years of experience in software development; or
• MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and at least four years of experience in software development; or
• PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Working knowledge of C++, Matlab, and Python.
• Able to evaluate as well as modify existing programs and codes with improved techniques and update them to incorporate new system requirements and configurations.
• Knowledge of structured techniques and the ability to develop software under Linux operating system and to test software during the development cycle by leveraging frameworks such as Git-Flow, CMake and Google Test.
• Experience with hierarchical system development methodologies and source code control techniques. Preferred: NRL's current configuration management system (CMS) will be used to establish and maintain consistency of the final product's performance. The coding techniques that are developed should meet all industry and DoD best practices for reliability and security purposes.
  • Ability to write and develop technical and user manuals and work closely with NRL personnel during all development phases.
