Peraton is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Lanham, Maryland.

The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Enterprise Systems Testing program. This program supports the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) tax processing pipeline and master file systems.

What you'll do:

• 
  
• Conduct functional and/or integration testing of multiple programs in an IBM mainframe or client/server environment.
  
• Use IRS or Contractor-developed documentation to construct test cases with predetermined results and test data to verify program functionality and/or interfaces through assigned systems.
  
• Review output to determine whether or not the test results fulfill the established requirements, and if necessary, notify the responsible programmers, both verbally and in writing, of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in the programs and/or documentation.
  
• Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
  
• Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing.
  
• Provide inputs on the required testing level of effort for Unified Work Request.

  Qualifications
  What you'll need:
  
  Required -Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of progressive IT experience; OR a Master's degree and 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience OR in lieu of a degree 9 years of relevant work experience in the IT field.
    
  • Must have 1 year of software testing experience.
    
  • Before beginning work, candidate must obtain interim staff like access based upon an IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation security clearance. Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder) in order to obtain and maintain a Position of Public Trust clearance.

    • Experience with the following skills will be considered a significant plus in considering prospective candidates:
      
    • IBM Mainframe Unisys Mainframe DB2
      
    • Informatica Business Objects
      
    • Knowledge of current IRS tax administration software applications is a significant plus.
      
    • Amazon Cloud Platform
      
    • Eclipse Java EE for Web Developers
      
    • Automation features for Cloud programs
      
    • Experience with TOAD
      
    • Rational CLM tools (Quality Manager, Team Concert, Doors Next Generation)

      Range for Posting Salary Minimum: $57,500 Salary Mid: $115,000 Salary Maximum: $143,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
