Job Description:
LST is seeking a Software Developer to provide support for the
FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program. The ideal candidate
will support the Low Altitude Authorization & Notification
Capability (LAANC) project in system maintenance activities to
ensure successful communication between the FAA and the
industry.LAANC is a collaboration between FAA and industry that
supports the integration of small UAS into the airspace by
providing drone pilots with access to control airspace and
awareness about FAA flight requirements, as well as providing air
traffic visibility into where and when drones are operating. The
LAANC Team provides engineering and program management support for
the planning, design, implementation, and sustainment of LAANC,
including the air traffic user interface and API. The team monitors
the performance of the internal FAA system and the services of the
FAA's industry partners. The team investigates issues flagged by
our Operations & Maintenance (O) tool and performs annual service
evaluations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.Job
ResponsibilitiesSupport O evaluations by running endpoint calls to
ensure API connectivity.Investigate data anomalies and problem
solve in an independent environment.Evaluate and recommend new
testing technologies, frameworks, and tools that will take the
organization to the next level.Establish productive working
relationships and maintains effective communications with teammates
and end-users.RequirementsExperience working with REST APIs and
usage of tools like POSTMAN to invoke and understand the
functionality behind the APIs under test.Experience with
scripting/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)Working database
knowledge (e.g., SQL queries)Demonstrated experience in working
with database and application developers to define application
architecture/best practices.Strong communication skills to
interface with customers, as well as collaborate in a
cross-discipline team environment, are required.Ability to operate
in an environment with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to
think abstractly.Excellent problem-solving skills with a
demonstrated history of independently delivering high-quality and
maintainable solutions and processes.Strong attention to detail,
well-organized, and ability to self-prioritize, manage and adjust
multiple tasks as the project evolves is required. Ability to
clearly and concisely document test procedures and results for
repeatability or troubleshooting by other software
developersExperience performing data analytics and creating
dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau, or similar technologies
preferredEducationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science,
Electrical/Computer Engineering or Information Systems or related
field. 4-10 years of experience as a software engineer Travel0 -
